THE TENDEREST OF STRINGS

by Steven Schwartz

“Schwartz (Madagascar, 2016), whose long career includes both novels and story collections, delivers the rare plot-driven domestic drama. The mystery of who killed Tom bubbles under the surface as the characters deal with heavy emotions and difficult decisions. The smooth writing and quick pace will appeal to readers of Jessica Strawser and Jodi Picoult.” – Booklist

“Steven Schwartz’s tightly written story tells of a family in crisis…Schwartz brings an understanding of ordinary people to this engrossing story of a fractured family that strives to heal itself through love and understanding.” – The Denver Post

As an employee of MacBain Security and Solutions, Claire Kelly can certainly hold her own. Armed with an impressive set of covert skills, she’s more than prepared to tackle any job that comes her way…except one involving Cooper Lockman. Cooper and Claire used to work together before his feelings for her sent him packing to Europe for six long years. But now he’s back and determined to ignore the still-smoldering heat that lingers between them.

Their current mission: go undercover together at a California high school to root out the mastermind behind a prostitution ring targeting young girls. Broadway legend and author, Harold Prince, has died at 91

Harold Prince

To call him a legend is an understatement. From the mid-fifties to 2019, Mr. Prince did more than anyone to define the content, form, and parameters of the modern Broadway musical. West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, Sweeney Todd, Evita, and Phantom of the Opera — Harold Prince was the theater genius behind all of these iconic musicals. Over the course of his amazing career, he received more Tony Awards than any other individual — a total of 21.

We had the great privilege to work with Hal Prince on his candid memoir, SENSE OF OCCASION (Rowman & Littlefield |Applause Theatre & Cinema Books, 2019). Harold Prince was the true Prince of Broadway, and his passion for musical theater will live on.
