April Virtual Tour for WHISPERS OF INK AND STARLIGHT by Garrett Curbow

A spellbinding tale of forbidden love and the power of words, where a girl must choose between the life written for her and the future she dares to imagine.

Garrett Curbow, author of the YA fantasy trilogy Daughter of Light, which was short-listed for the Publishers Weekly Selfies Award, will make his adult novel debut with the captivating WHISPERS OF INK AND STARLIGHT (Lake Union; April 1, 2026), a beautifully written, emotionally drawn love story told with a sprinkle of magic and great attention to detail. It’s also a coming-of-age story as the two main characters run away together from their small Southern town and personal struggles in search of freedom, adventure and self-discovery.

“After my YA fantasy books were released, readers would consistently ask if the books included romance, which they didn’t,” Curbow explains. “A fan of a good love story myself, I knew I wanted romance in my adult debut, but I wanted to write a raw, authentic relationship, not one with an automatic happy-ever-after ending. I was inspired after I read V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue to create this genre-defying story, and I’m excited, after 6 years of keeping it to myself, to share it.”

In a small Georgia town, Nelle’s life has been carefully scripted by her creator and captor, the reclusive author Wallace Quill. Born from ink and imagination, every breath she takes is dictated by his pen. But on a star-studded Fourth of July night, she meets James―a young man with dreams as vivid as the fireworks above them―and suddenly, the unwritten becomes possible.

As Nelle and James fall deeply in love, they embark on a breathtaking journey across Europe, each new experience a defiant stroke against the words that bind her. But freedom has a price. With every mile they travel, the ink in Nelle’s veins threatens to rewrite their story. In a world where every moment could be her last, Nelle and James must fight to write their own happily ever after―before the final page turns.

WHISPERS OF INK AND STARLIGHT is a magical and genre-bending novel that will pull you in and keep you hooked until the last page. To celebrate its release, we are hosting a virtual book tour throughout the month of April featuring these stellar influencers who will share reviews, spotlights, and giveaways. “The healing power of family and romantic love vie for center stage in Dev’s captivating dramedy… Exploring all kinds of love and domestic drama, this genre-defying high-wire act is one to savor.” – Kirkus Reviews, *starred review

“Best New Romance Novels to Read in 2026.” – Town & Country

“The 15 Most Anticipated Romance Books of 2026” and “Most Anticipated BIPOC Books of 2026.” – Book Riot

“Big-hearted, funny, and full of emotional fire, How Simi Got Her Groom Back is a poignant story of love, loyalty, and the ties that bind—even when everything else falls apart.” – Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author of He Falls First

Two sisters face the real consequences of a fake marriage scheme in an emotional yet hilarious novel about immigration, healing, and family from USA Today bestselling author Sonali Dev.

Two sisters. One fake marriage. Zero chance of keeping the truth hidden.

The Naik sisters escaped their traumatic past in Mumbai to come to the States, but their journeys have been vastly different. Simi is working toward a bright future as a pediatric nurse in a small town in Kentucky when Rupi shows up at her door in distress, on the run, and as always, dragging trouble in her wake.

With Rupi’s safety in jeopardy, the sisters hatch a desperate plan to keep her in the country: Rupi must get married―and fast―even if it means Simi recruiting the man she’s been secretly dating as her sister’s groom. A perfect plan? Not quite. But there aren’t many alternatives.

As the big day inches closer, Simi and Rupi face a storm of wedding shenanigans and romantic surprises, not to mention sisterly jealousies. As the stakes and tensions rise, will their secrets tear them apart or will they find a way to risk everything for love?

Throughout March and early April we will celebrate the release of HOW SIMI GOT HER GROOM BACK with this special virtual book tour, and we hope you will follow along to learn more about this wonderfully multifaceted, emotionally compelling novel:

Virtual Book Tour for THE OTHER MOCTEZUMA GIRLS by Sofia Robleda

In sixteenth-century Mexico, a fearless young woman strives to uncover the secrets her mother kept as the last Aztec empress in a sweeping historical epic by the author of Daughter of Fire.

“THE OTHER MOCTEZUMA GIRLS tells a moving and eye-opening tale of family, loss, and the consequences of colonialism that will leave the reader wanting even more.” –Booklist

“Folklore and supernatural touches blend with carefully researched history, resulting in an immersive, gripping tale about reclaiming identity piece by aching piece. Exquisite prose, pulse-pounding adventure, a lost empire, evocative setting details, and dynamic characters blend together to create a story that will leave an indelible mark on those who dare to follow Isabel’s path. Highly recommended.” – Historical Novels Review, Editors’ Choice

“Impressively original, featuring deftly crafted characters and an inherently fascinating, multifaceted storyline, ‘The Other Moctezuma Girls’ by novelist Sofia Robleda will hold an immense attraction to readers with an interest in novels that are a blending of magical realism and indigenous themed historical fiction. Certain to be an extraordinarily enduring popular pick.” – Midwest Book Review

“Overflowing with suspense and heart-wrenching emotions, Robleda weaves a riveting drama that’s a love letter to the beauty and depth of Mexican history.” –Liana de la Rosa, USA Today bestselling author

Following her stunning debut Daughter of Fire (2024), Mexican writer Sofia Robleda is back with another beautifully written and captivating tale that is her love letter to her native country. THE OTHER MOCTEZUMA GIRLS (Amazon Crossing; February 24, 2026) tells the story of Tecuichpoch, the last empress of the Mexica, through the eyes of her rebellious daughter, Isabel, who embarks on a transcendental journey through the valley of Mexico, to piece together the truths her mother kept secret in order to survive the Spanish conquest. It’s the first time a Mexican woman has written about this queen, and that her story is being brought to an English audience.

Tenochtitlan, 1551. Thirty years after the Spanish Conquest destroyed everything she loved, the last Aztec empress has passed and left behind a pristine yet tenuous legacy for her children. As her last will and testament is read out, her daughter Isabel suspects that another account of her mother’s life may exist, hidden away chapter by chapter in the Valley of Mexico. Following each clue, Isabel is determined to find out who her mother really was and to discover the secrets she buried in order to survive.

Joined by her siblings and a handsome young cook named Juan, the party embarks on a perilous journey to piece together the past―a journey that will force them to brave the brutal viceroyal court, face fearsome legends in mystical chinampas, and trek through desert, fire, and snow. As Isabel’s feelings for Juan grow, she confronts everything she thought she knew about her Spanish father, her empress mother, and herself. From the tunnels of ancient pyramids to the summit of an active volcano, Isabel will meet every challenge to fulfill an epic quest for the truth.

THE OTHER MOCTEZUMA GIRLS is the perfect blend of great storytelling, memorable and diverse characters, and a fantastic historical adventure that will leave you breathless!

Virtual Book Tour: Nov. 24 – Jan. 9 for THE WONDROUS LIFE AND LOVES OF NELLA CARTER by Brionni Nwosu

“This debut is a testament to the strength of light in dark times, and the necessity of hope. Well-developed characters and a strong sense of place throughout history draw the reader in to the very end.” —Booklist, starred review

“The Wondrous Lives and Loves of Nella Carter is unlike any novel I’ve ever read—and I say that with the utmost praise. Brionni Nwosu is a truly gifted storyteller and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.” —Camille Pagán, bestselling author of Good for You

“A deft tale of love, loss, and reinvention, Nella Carter will have readers eagerly turning pages to the very end. A stunningly lovely debut!” —Nicole Glover, author of The Conductors

An unforgettable novel about eternal life, epic love, and the impossible hope that we’re still worth saving.

In THE WONDROUS LIFE AND LOVES OF NELLA CARTER (Lake Union Publishing; December 1, 2025), debut novelist Brionni Nwosu has penned an exquisite portrait of a young woman at the crossroads of life and death who embarks on an extraordinary journey across time.

Nwosu, a writer, educator and creative who lives in Nashville, poses the question: if Death gave you forever, would you still find reasons to believe in humanity? “This book gave me the opportunity to explore history through the eyes of a formerly enslaved woman—not through her trauma, but through her triumphs, her travels, and her unyielding hope, explains Nwosu. “I’ve always loved speculative stories that cross time and space, but rarely saw a Black woman like Nella at the center. With this book, I wanted to change that.”

Born enslaved in eighteenth-century Georgia, Nella Carter still believes in the will to survive amid the most untenable of conditions, in the glory of life, and in the ultimate goodness of the human race. When Nella strikes a deal with Death to prove humanity’s worth, she’s granted immortality – but across continents, centuries, lovers, and lifetimes, she must decide whether the human heart is resilient enough to be worth saving, or too fragile to survive.

With each new incarnation, Nella records the joys and losses, and the friendships and heartbreaks, throughout her lifetimes. When she meets handsome and passionate professor Sebastian Moore―the first man to whom she has ever revealed her secrets―Nella yearns for the mortality that escapes her. She can’t bear to leave this love behind.

As Death keeps watch, has Nella’s journey come to an end? Or is a new one just beginning?

With hauntingly breathtaking travels from Savannah, New Orleans, Paris, and London to New York, Montgomery, and Buenos Aires, combined with spellbinding prose, Brionni Nwosu weaves a dazzling tale about beauty, hope, endurance, and endless loves. Fans of Tia Williams’ A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Esi Edugyan’s Washington Black, and Erin Crosby Eckstine’s Junie will delight in THE WONDROUS LIFE AND LOVES OF NELLA CARTER.

To celebrate the publication of THE WONDROUS LIFE AND LOVES OF NELLA CARTER, we are hosting a virtual book tour with this stellar list of book influencers who will post reviews, features, and giveaways. We hope you will follow along!

December Virtual Tour for SNAKE-EATER by T. Kingfisher

From New York Times bestselling and Hugo Award–winning author T. Kingfisher comes an enthralling contemporary fantasy about a woman trying to escape her past by moving to the remote US desert―only to find herself beholden to the wrath of a vengeful god.

“Hugo and Nebula Award-winner Kingfisher (Hemlock & Silver) provides all the chills, thrills and laughs she’s known for in this dextrous dark fantasy…Kingfisher remains extremely good at what she does.” – Publishers Weekly, starred review

“Readers will enjoy the found family theme but should beware—this roadrunner is nothing like the one from the cartoon.” – Booklist

“Delightful supporting characters, intriguing mythology, and a neurodivergent protagonist come together for an entertaining story. Besides fans of Kingfisher’s (Hemlock and Silver), place it in the hands of readers of Katherine Addison and Lois McMaster Bujold.”    – Library Journal

“The appeal of the tale [is] characterized by Kingfisher’s familiar mix of creeping horror, sharp wit, and ingratiating characters… The bleak setting of Snake-Eater may seem modest compared to Kingfisher’s more baroque fantasies, but its detailed and at times gritty depiction of a real community in a real environment might just make it more affecting.” – Locus Magazine

The Wood-Wife by Terri Windling and The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo meets Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse in SNAKE-EATER (47 North; December 1, 2025), the captivating new novel from the beloved fantasy author T. Kingfisher. With a remote desert setting, a house brimming with secrets, a wonderfully eclectic cast of characters including desert spirits and gods, SNAKE-EATER has all of the rich, dark fantasy elements as well as humor and heart that make Kingfisher’s novels unforgettable and unputdownable.

Kingfisher explains “If I was going to describe the platonic ideal of a Kingfisher horror novel, it would probably be a woman and her dog alone in a house full of creepy family secrets. That was the plot of my first horror novel, The Twisted Ones, and I often find books trying to bend in that direction and having to wrestle them back into line. It was a weird relief with SNAKE-EATER to just embrace it wholeheartedly.”

With only a few dollars to her name and her beloved dog Copper by her side, Selena flees her past in the city to claim her late aunt’s house in the desert town of Quartz Creek. The scorpions and spiders are better than what she left behind.

Because in Quartz Creek, there’s a strange beauty to everything, from the landscape to new friends, and more blue sky than Selena’s ever seen. But something lurks beneath the surface. Like the desert gods and spirits lingering outside Selena’s house at night, keeping watch. Mostly benevolent, says her neighbor Grandma Billy. That doesn’t ease the prickly sense that one of them watches too closely and wants something from Selena she can’t begin to imagine. And when Selena’s search for answers leads her to journal entries that her aunt left behind, she discovers a sinister truth about her new home: It’s the haunting grounds of an ancient god known simply as “Snake-Eater,” who her late aunt made a promise to that remains unfulfilled.

Snake-Eater has taken a liking to Selena, an obsession of sorts that turns sinister. And now that Selena is the new owner of his home, he’s hell-bent on collecting everything he’s owed.

We hope you will follow along on our virtual tour to celebrate the release of SNAKE-EATER with this superb list of influencers as they share reviews, excerpts, features, Q&As, and lots of giveaways!
