In the news: Aurora Trust seeks out ancient Mediterranean shipwrecks via MiamiHerald.com

On October 8, 2011, The Miami Herald ran a two-page feature on The Aurora Trust Foundation.

“In 2003, Ian Koblick co-founded the Aurora Special Purposes Trust with fellow ocean explorer Craig Mullen, whose former company helped recover the space shuttle Challenger. The duo wanted to advance the understanding of ancient civilizations through marine cultural heritage.

The operation has discovered 24 ancient shipwreck sites during highly technical surveys of ancient ports, harbors and trade routes in coastal waters of Italy, Malta, Croatia, Spain and France. Many have not been seen for 2,000 years or more.”

AVOID THE STRESS OF BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON

Although everyone is still enjoying trips to the beach, outdoor barbecues, and delicious summer fruits, many of us are already worrying about the back-to-school season.  And even those of us who don’t have kids still find ourselves in the back-to-school mode come September, nervous and anxious about forthcoming family gatherings, work presentations, and even holiday parties.  From buying school supplies and
handling homework hassles to managing busy fall schedules, what can we do to
avoid the stress? According to Gale Steves, former editor-in-chief of Home
magazine and organizational guru, it’s all a matter of right-sizing.

In RIGHT-SIZING YOUR HOME: How To Make Your House Fit Your Lifestyle (Northwest Arm Press Trade Paperback;$21.95), Steves defines right-sizing as the concept of working with what you have by making better use of existing space.  She shares valuable money and time-saving advice and takes you step by step through her unique right-sizing process, including cleaning, sorting, and reorganizing. The promise is you can live more fully in your home if you right-size.

“Heading back to school is a call to action for most of us,” Steves says, “but it doesn’t have to be a stressful time.  Use these last few weeks of summer to clean up, clear out, and get organized. Start September off with work surfaces and storage areas that are ready for the challenges of fall.”  She has all kinds of tips and helpful advice
to help get your homes and yourselves ready for the back to school season.  Check out her website, www.right-sizing.com for more ideas.
