Helen Nash, Renowned Kosher Cookbook Author, Launches New Website

Helen Nash, the author of three beloved, classic kosher cookbooks – Kosher Cuisine, Helen Nash’s Kosher Kitchen, and most recently the 2012 Helen Nash’s New Kosher Cuisine: Healthy, Simple, and Stylish – has launched the website, Kitchenwise by Helen Nash (www.kitchenwisehn.com).  The website will be devoted to gourmet kosher cooking that is healthy, simple and easy to prepare.

Helen has lived for over 65 years in New York City, where she has perfected her kosher culinary art. She studied with the masters of the day and has given numerous cooking demonstrations around the country.  An invitation to her home is highly coveted, not only for the delicious kosher cuisine, but also for the cultured ambiance.

“My philosophy is simple,” Nash explains.  “Eating well on a daily basis requires good planning, portion control and a focus on nutrition.  My main rule for both cooking and eating is to use what is best and freshest at the market.  Whether it’s fish, vegetables, fruit or meat, the better your ingredients the better your results.”

Now Helen invites her devoted fans to her new website to continue to learn and enjoy home-cooked, highly appealing and healthy kosher food.  Novice as well as experienced cooks can learn from Helen and will find much to delight in among her imaginative, delicious dishes.

New recipes for June include a light, summer Leek Spinach Soup, an easy and delicious Broiled Branzino, and classic chocolate chip cookies.

Visit www.Kitchenwisehn.com every month for new recipes and ideas about successful entertaining.

Jerome Charyn’s new collection of short stories, BITTER BRONX continues to receive great reviews!

Most recently it is mentioned in this month’s O, The Oprah Magazine and described, “With echoes of Walt Whitman’s fantastical city and the hard-boiled territory of Mickey Spilane BITTER BRONX elevates the borough’s stoops and sidewalks into the realm of myth.”

This week he has been blogging for the Jewish Book Council’s Visiting Scribe series.  His third and final blog is about going “Back to the Bronx.”

Read all three of his blogs on the Jewish Book Council’s website.

Interest in Richard Katrovas’ memoir RAISING GIRLS IN BOHEMIA continues to grow. In this week’s issue, Kirkus Reviews  weighs in on Katrovas’ essays, calling the book…
“A distinguished writer and English professor chronicles his experiences living and loving between American and Czech cultures….At times brutally provocative, Katrovas’ essays, which also grapple more generally with otherness, faith and the role of art in society, are nothing if not stimulating….ultimately humane.”
